Le crazy quilt est une technique passionnante ... qui ne présente (malgré les apparences) peu de difficultés techniques : il suffit de savoir un peu coudre et broder pour pouvoir faire de très jolies pièces ...
J'ai pensé qu'il serait intéressant que je vous propose un tuto de la technique pour toutes celles qui souhaiteraient s'y essayer !
Mon tuto n'est pas un pas à pas pour réaliser un objet (ce médaillon bleu me permet juste d'illustrer mes explications ...). Je vais vous expliquer la technique générale du crazy quilt.
Une caractéristique de cette technique est qu'elle exige quelques fournitures (plus on a de choix, et de matières différentes, et plus votre travail sera riche au résultat) mais en contrepartie, c'est aussi une technique qui permet d'utiliser les chutes de tissus, de dentelles et d'utiliser la récup pour les boutons, les perles ...
Pour être claire, je suis partie d'un exemple concret : la réalisation d'un petit médaillon en crazy quilt dans les harmonies de bleu, vert ... J'ai réuni tout ce que je pouvais utiliser dans cette harmonie :
- mon transfert sur tissu
- des chutes de tissu
- des dentelles
- des galons
- des perles de verre
- du fil à broder
- du fil à coudre
- des fibres (laine fantaisie)
La technique consiste à travailler par couche :
Je commence par recouvrir le tour de la photo, par des petits bouts de tissu de différentes couleurs et matières, puis je pose les dentelles, les galons, et les perles. Sur certaines pièces, on rajoutera des points de broderie.
Il suffit de tout coudre à petits points, en disposant chaque chose, les unes après les autres. Le choix des couleurs et des matières va vous permettre de réaliser de jolies pièces ... C'est un long travail de patience mais le résultat est toujours très réussi !
